Deň novorodenca sa tento rok zameriaval na výnimočnosť novorodenca a jeho jedinečné schopnosti v prvých hodinách a dňoch života. Odborný program sa venoval adaptácii novorodenca na nové podmienky, špecifikám jeho fyziologických prejavov, formám komunikácie a významu prvého kontaktu s matkou.
Podujatie spája teoretické poznatky s klinickou praxou a prináša aj skúsenosti zahraničných odborníkov. Cieľom je prehĺbiť porozumenie prejavom novorodenca, jeho reakciám na liečbu a podporiť citlivý, odborný prístup k najmenším pacientom.
Súčasťou podujatia je aj milá vzdelávacia aktivita pre deti zo základnej školy, ktoré majú možnosť primeranou formou spoznávať svet najmenších a učiť sa základom starostlivosti o novorodenca.
